General History : They are one of the oldest breeds.
The American Eskimo is a descendant from the German Spitz. In fact
many still refer to this breed as "spitz". During their
beginning in America they were quite large.
This miniature size have been breed since the start of early 20th
century. Like all of the European spitz, the American Eskimos is noted
for being sturdy, hardy, and long-lived
They enjoys cold weather better than warm. Known to clean their faces
like cats they are easier to maintain then you may think as their
coat easily repels dirt and they have no doggie odor when clean.
