Gouramis are labyrinth fishes. They have labyrinth, which is an air-filled breathing hole,
located under the gill covers. This kind of fish can often be seen going to the surface of the
water to take in fresh air, making them survive waters with low oxygen levels.
They are quite popular choices among fish hobbyists. Some of the
famous popular species include the Pearl Gourami, dwarf and the honey gourami. For novice breeders it can be really tough job.
These fishes come from south and southeast asia.. and they have many different types of gouramis.
Most of these types are easy to bred, however a few like kissing gourami and Gaint Gourami can be
something hard to handle.
These are very calm n easy to keep. They like oscar fishes eat just about anything.
If you want to breed these types then you should have an aquarium at least of 80 cm in legnth
temperature should around 85 F.
For pearl Up to 2000 eggs can be laid in one spawning, The female will lay
upto 2000 eggs in one spawning...and they should be removed right after spawming.
In Dwarf gourami the female will lay 300-700 eggs and they should be removed too after spawning.
They are too easy to feed and eat just about anything.
