Ferrets make excellent pets
and They get along with other house hold pets quite easily.
Ferrets are not the kind of animal which anyone can have it as a
pet. They require special care and understanding. It's easy to have
Dogs and Cats as pets but Ferrets are bit tough to handle.
You should not consider if you have kids who are less than 6-7 yrs
old. Infact don't consider any sort of pets around small childrens.
If you do have children, then keep your ferret in cage or keep close
eye on them. Don't let kids handle them. Ferrets spines are delicate
and it can get broken easily. Kids like pet and they'll cuddle them,
lift them (if you have small animals as pets). It's ok with dogs and
cats but not with ferrets.
Be careful around new visitors. Ferrets can bite them out of
protecting themselves.
When playing with your ferret it is important to keep in mind that they are used to playing rough with each other and might not adjust to our sensitive skin, which is not done on purpose.
Ferrets play very aggressively with each other sometimes it might
look like a fight. It's important to not hit them when they do hurt
you.
The proper way to train and teach your ferret is to scruff their neck, loudly say "ouch" or "no", and drag them on the ground a little just like their mother would do when teaching them, but do NOT be rough with them
