Train Your Dog To Stay

How You can train your dog to Sit when asked to. It's fairly easy to teach him. Remember Some important things

Use patience, encouragement and treats to teach your dog one of the most basic of all commands, "Sit."

Reward your dog when done right. Rewarding can be done with Treats or even saying "Good Boy/Girl".

Be sure your dog understands a release command, such as "free" or "okay," before teaching this command.

Here are the secrets to training your Dog to stay.

Have your dog sit or lie down in front of you.

Place your hand, palm open, in front of your dog's nose and give the command "Stay."

Say "Good boy/girl" at the exact moment your dog exhibits the behavior you want.

Give the release command immediately after (within 1 to 2 seconds).

Do not Forget treats and praise. Always offer rewards for even slight indications of understanding.

Lengthen the amount of time your pet remains in the stay position very gradually.

Remember to give the release command after every successful "stay" as you increase the length of time your dog must remain in the position.

Train in multiple 5-minute sessions.
